The Lytle Chamber of Commerce is very proud to continue it's annual tradition of providing local Lytle students with scholarships for college/vocational training totaling $2,000.
There is no scholarship application needed, but the students will be provided a form and information about the scholarship. All high school Seniors are invited to get involved.
Students are required to write an essay based on subject matter provided by the members of the chamber. Once the essays have been completed and submitted, a panel of judges will then choose the winners. A male and female student with the highest votes will each be awarded $1,000 scholarship by the Lytle Chamber of Commerce.
Amy Bibler, a fellow chamber member and representative for LISD is currently working closely with the counselors and the chamber to ensure these students are given this opportunity.
Bibler stated the students will be given the information on Friday April 20. All essays will be due by Wednesday May 16 to allow the judges ample time to vote.
The LISD will be hosting their awards ceremony on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at the High School auditorium at 7pm, at which time, the Lytle Chamber scholarship awards will be personally handed to the deserving students.
Lytle Chamber of Commerce Board Member and owner/operator of M&M Performance located in Lytle, Mark Gibson, has also asked to contribute to the scholarship fund individually.
The Chamber is proud of all our graduating students and wish them success and happiness!
